Privacy Policy

Last updated August 15, 2026

1. Who we are

Rising Clips is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are the organisation responsible for personal information collected through risingclips.com and the Rising Clips application.

We handle personal information in line with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and, where it applies to you, the General Data Protection Regulation in the EEA and the United Kingdom.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Your name and email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We never receive your Google password.

Subscription and payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We store the identifiers and status Stripe gives us, which are your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, your subscription status, and the date your current period ends.

Usage information. Content you save into collections, and standard server and security logs generated by our hosting providers, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps.

Support correspondence. The content of messages you send us.

We do not buy personal information from third parties, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use it

  • to create your account and sign you in
  • to run your free trial and your subscription
  • to send transactional email such as address confirmation, password resets, and billing notices
  • to answer your support requests
  • to detect and prevent fraud and abuse, including repeated trial signups
  • to keep the Service secure, reliable, and improving
  • to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of our contract with you to provide the Service, on our legitimate interests in securing and improving it and in preventing abuse, on compliance with legal obligations, and on your consent where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who processes information for us

We use a small number of service providers, each of which handles only what it needs to:

  • Supabase for our database and authentication, hosted in Canada
  • Vercel for application hosting
  • Cloudflare for DNS and for delivering video and image files
  • Stripe for payment processing and subscription management
  • Resend for delivering transactional email
  • Hostinger for our support mailbox
  • Google if you choose to sign in with Google

Some of these providers operate outside Canada, primarily in the United States. That means your personal information may be stored or processed outside your country, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or national security authorities there under the laws that apply to them.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third party tracking cookies. If we introduce analytics in future we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 90 days, except for records we are required to retain for legal, tax, or accounting purposes, which in Canada is generally up to seven years for financial records. Backups age out on their normal cycle.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it, ask us to restrict or object to certain processing, and ask for a portable copy. Email support@risingclips.com and we will respond within 30 days.

You can also change your name, email address, and password yourself from your account settings.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in the EEA or the United Kingdom, to your local supervisory authority.

9. Security

Traffic to and from the Service is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate the Service. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the relevant regulators as the law requires.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Business transfers

If the Service is transferred to another entity, for example when it is moved into a company formed or acquired to operate it, or in connection with a merger, reorganisation, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The receiving entity will remain bound by this policy, or will give you notice before making any material change to it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is material we will give you notice by email or within the Service before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

13. Contact

For any privacy question or request, email support@risingclips.com, or write to Rising Clips, 2837 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M4N 0A7, Canada.
